Privacy Policy

The following statement explains our policy regarding the personal information we collect about you.

From time to time, you may be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address, etc.) in order to use or to receive information about our services. When you supply personal information to us we have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with it. We must collect the information fairly; we must let you know how we will use it; and we must tell you in advance if we decide to pass the information on to anyone else.

We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we have about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. (Such requests are subject to a £5 administration fee and should be forwarded to dpofficer@barnsley-bs.co.uk).

The information you provide, and any other information that the society may hold on you, which may include sensitive data, may be used for the Society's own use in respect of administration, marketing, statistical analysis, fraud prevention or similar purposes. It may also be used by the Society to promote products for other companies with whom it has a business partnership. We will not supply your information to third parties without first obtaining your consent unless we are obliged by law.
