What happens at an appointment?
When you meet a consultant, they will have a discussion with you to give them an understanding of who you are and what you need your money to do for you. From this, they will be able to tell you about the products that meet your needs.
To help with this process, it would be useful if you brought the following to the meeting:
- Details of any existing investments
- National Insurance Number
- Passport or Driving Licence for ID purposes so that you can proceed if you wish to.
Plain English
Products will be explained in simple, straight-forward English - no financial jargon - so you'll be clear how the different products work and what the benefits and risks are.
At the end of the interview
You will be free to take out a policy or open a new account or go away and think things over. If you want to come back for another chat, that's fine too.

- Legal & General consultants will review your circumstances each year to ensure your needs are still being met.
- They are only able to advise on Legal & General life assurance and investment products.
