Our Wakefield branch has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment project over the last couple of months and branch staff took the decision to select last Saturday, the 26th as their official opening day. As part of the celebrations they put on coffee and cake for the branch visitors, as well as unveiling their commissioned sculpture by local Barnsley based Sculptor Graham Ibberson.

Each year most of the Society branches mark the Macmillan Cancer Care 'World's Largest Coffee Morning' by holding an event in the banking halls and supplying the members who visit their branches on the day, with a coffee, a piece of cake and a comfortable seat.

Enthusiastic supporters have made the campaign very successful and have ensured that the business proposition offered by the club as main sponsors has begun to bear fruit.
